Course Policy for Graduate Co-op

Categories of Graduate Co-op

1) EME5922 Graduate Co-op - Companies/Research Institutes: Domestic companies or research institutes

2) EME5923 Graduate Co-op - Global: Overseas companies, research institutes or universities.

3) EME5924 Graduate Co-op - Venture: Activities of preparing a new venture or being involve in the operation of existing venture

 

 

Requirement for degrees

- Taking at least one Co-op course is compulsory for PhD/MS-PhD and Master (part-time) degree candidates entered in 2017 and onward.

- Recommended for full-time Master degree students.

 

 

Co-op requirements

1) Total 10 days or 48 hours of Co-op activities in the target organization (activities during the previous semester and vacation can be accounted for)

2) 4 weeks of research activities related with the co-op

3) Products of the above activities including a development of design drawing, manufacture of equipment/materials (photo), research report, academic presentation or publication (For EME5924 Graduate Co-op-Venture, proofs for the activities including business registration, transcript of education program, or minutes of meetings with administrative or companies)

 

 

Submission of Co-op plan

Fill in the form for the Co-op plan (attached) with the signature of your research advisor and submit within the first week of the semester. (Details will be guided by the course manager on i-campus)

 

 

Submission of the final Co-op report

※ Due date: final date of semester

※ How to submit:

1) Fill in the report form (attached) including the signatures of the person in charge of your Co-op activities in the organization and your research advisor, and scan it.

2) Prepare at least 4 products of co-op activities in separate PDF files.

  • For a long document, maximum 10 key pages including the cover page.
  • All the products should be written by your or directly involve your activities.
  • Confidential information may be removed from the product. If requested upon submission, the course manager will delete the file and the email immediately after the product is checked

3) Compress the above files into a zip file (file name: “Co-op report-YourName.zip”) and submit to the course manager by email. This will be guided by the course manager toward the end of the semester.
